Agility trials are competitions in which a handler guides the dog through an obstacle course consisting of jumps, tunnels, weave poles, and contact obstacles.  Dogs are judged based on accuracy and speed.  Shelties generally excel at agility because of their natural athleticism, working ability, and desire to please their owners.
